The Suzuki ACROSS is an all-new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that does away with the stresses of charging. It can charge itself in Battery Charger mode, which uses the 2.5 petrol engine to charge the battery. The 18.1kWh lithium-ion battery pack is good for a 46 mile electric range on a single charge, and thanks to four-wheel drive and 180bhp and 270Nm of torque, you will enjoy every single mile you rack up.
So, the ACROSS can drive for 46 miles without using a sip of petrol, and you can either plug it in or enter Battery Charger mode to charge the battery as you drive. What other tricks does the ACROSS have up its sleeve? How about a kick operated electric tailgate, a 9” touchscreen and adaptive cruise control. With so many useful features, it makes no wonder the ACROSS is kicking up such positive praise in the motoring press.
If you like your cars sporty and interesting, the ACROSS is for you. It sits on 19” alloy wheels as standard and gets LED headlights and roof bars as standard too. Inside, there’s a 9-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch driver’s display and leather upholstery.
There are 4 drive modes (EV, Auto EV/HV, HV, Battery Charger) to suit every adventure. In EV mode, you will get up to 46 miles of range and when you run low on battery selecting the Battery Charger mode will top up the battery for you.
The ACROSS has an unusually large 490-litre boot (unusual in the sense that PHEV’s usually compromise on boot space). It also has keyless entry and an electric tailgate. There’s space for five passengers and twin ISOFIX points on the rear seats.
Living with it
With wireless charging, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, heated seats, parking sensors and driving aids like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, the Suzuki ACROSS is equipped to make your life easier.
