Suzuki Swift Sport
Meet the smartest hot hatch you’ll ever drive. The Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a turbocharged HYBRID engine with self-charging technology. The 1.4 Boosterjet turbo engine is bolstered by a 10kW electric motor that delivers torque assistance lower in the rev range for a smoother drive. Weighing just 1,025kg with 129bhp and 235N of torque, it accelerates beautifully with a chassis that eats twisty roads for fun.
Being a Swift, the Swift Sport is comfortable and spacious, and with combined fuel consumption of 50.4mpg, it’s cheap to run too. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure prevention, blind spot monitoring, road sign recognition, keyless entry and start, front and rear electric windows, automatic air conditioning, LED headlights and a 7” touchscreen with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Swift Sport’s distinctive dual tailpipe exhaust, chunky rear diffuser, 17” polished alloy wheels and LED headlights make it look three times more expensive than it is. Inside, there’s sports seats, a sports steering wheel and a 7” touchscreen.
With a crisp manual gearbox and an eager Boosterjet turbo engine with HYBRID technology, the Swift Sport always puts a smile on your face. It can also cruise and stay in lane for you with adaptive cruise control and lane departure prevention.
With keyless entry and start and a five-door design, the Swift Sport is built for nipping out and going on road trips. The boot is surprisingly big with a 264-litre load volume and the 60-40 split-fold rear seats let you expand cargo capacity easily.
Living with it
Little features like automatic air conditioning, front and rear electric windows, high beam assist and in-built navigation make the Swift Sport a perfect small car. It’s fun to drive, cheap to run and beautifully styled. What’s not to love?
